Ryann Weir is a Brooklyn-based writer and performer who loves funny stories about badass chicks.

 

She is a proud member of the Obie-winning group EST/Youngblood where she received an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation commission for her play X. She is a current Sundance New Voices Fellow developing the series Cloister F*cked, with fellow H.B.I.C. Claire Rothrock. Ryann is a co-creator/co-writer for the series Basic Witch (Amazon Prime/JASH) and a co-creator/performer in the play I Heard Sex Noises (Ars Nova Theater), which is being developed as a half hour comedy series with Imperative Entertainment. 

On stage, her work has been seen at EST, Ars Nova, HERE Arts Center, The Brick, The Flea, La Mama, Dixon Place, Cloud City, Roundabout, Theater for the New City, The Chocolate Factory, The Second City, The Pit and others.

Ryann is a an adjunct faculty member at NYU's Playwrights Horizons Theater School and a frequent collaborator at FGP events.
